A WOMAN targeted by a burglar was left too scared to remain in her own home.

The 62-year-old victim was in her bungalow in Ashley Lane, New Milton, when an intruder entered the garage, triggering an alarm.

He subsequently made off with |a Stihl TS410 disc cutter worth |£553.

A police spokesman said the sound of the alarm going off scared the householder, who was too frightened to be left alone in the property.

Det Con Mark Bradley is anxious to hear from anyone who has been offered a Stihl disc cutter since the break-in took place on November 23.

He said: “The burglary has had a detrimental effect on the woman, who was home alone at the time. “It’s a reminder to all of us that we must secure our properties at all times, even when we’re at home.”
