SAINTS legend Matthew Le Tissier was the special guest at the opening of a new life skills college.

The former Saints star joined Southampton’s mayor Councillor Ivan White to launch The Bridge, Hampshire Autistic Society’s life skills college. It is the first of its kind to support adults with autism and complex needs aged 16-25.

The college is based in Bassett Avenue, Southampton, and provides residential and non-residential support in areas including ICT, and design and technology, as well as work-related learning skills, personal and emotional development, independent living skills, and leisure and sport.

College head Coral Romain said: “We will support and encourage our young people to meet and address the challenges of autism and develop confidence, self-esteem and independence.”
