A Hampshire marketing and communications agency scooped seven awards at a top event held at the Saints ground in Southampton.

Staff at Ringwood-based McKenna Townsend walked away with a fistful of titles, including outstanding PR consultancy, best corporate and business communications campaign and best integrated campaign at the Chartered Institute of Public Relations (CIPR) PRide Awards.

Held at St Mary’s Stadium, Southampton, the glitzy ceremony honoured PR experts from across the south, including Hampshire, Dorset and the Isle of Wight.

McKenna Townsend provides regional, national and international PR support for a range of clients including the Subway brand, Fairline Boats, MDL Marinas, the National Marine Aquarium and Condor Ferries, and was shortlisted in five categories, finally walking away with five gold and two silver awards. Matt McKenna, co-managing director, said: “What an amazing night.

“The awards are a testament to the hard work and professionalism of the agency’s team who work tirelessly for our clients. We were particularly pleased to win the award for outstanding PR consultancy. We are now looking forward to working on more award-winning campaigns for our clients.” CIPR President Sue Wolstenholme FCIPR, added: “The Wessex CIPR PRide Awards celebrate the very best public relations campaigns, teams and individuals.

“The exceptional quality of entries received this year is a real testament to the thriving industry which exists here in the south. The CIPR PRide Awards represent the best, most creative and most effective public relations work across the UK regions and nations and to win an award is a great achievement.”
