A HOMELESS man who stole a £1 Christmas card must pay £165 for the offence.

Krzysctof Rozmyslowicz, 33, of Jewry Street, Winchester, admitted the theft from Poundland, Middle Brook Street, and threatening behaviour on November 16.

Magistrates at Basingstoke fined him £35 for shoplifting and £70 for threatening behaviour as well as a £20 victim surcharge and £40 costs.

Exactly. If he is homeless, then presumably he has very little or no money. What hope does he have of paying this fine if he cannot afford to buy a £1 card?
