A CHILDREN’S charity is to benefit from a company’s generosity following a terrifying robbery.
As previously reported, stairlift company Liftability was among those shocked after a gang brandishing a crowbar and a knife burst into a 60-year-old’s home before pinning him to the floor, stealing his cash and making off with wrapped Christmas presents.
The Hamble-based firm had offered the victim a £100 donation. But he has instead asked it to donate the funds to a children’s charity, so it has given the money to Naomi House hospice, near Winchester.
The Daily Echo previously told how the victim was punched in the face after the hooded group kicked in his front door in Chadwick Way, Hamble.
They demanded property as they held him on the floor, searching the flat and his pockets before stealing presents and £55 in cash, though some of the presents have since been recovered on a nearby pathway.
He was left shocked by the incident, which happened at 11.25pm on November 18, and police are appealing for witnesses.
