LANTERNS will be lighting up Southampton streets tomorrow as a neighbourhood’s festivities swing into action.
The display, taking place as part of the Woolston Traders’ Christmas Festival 2013, will parade down Victoria Road, Woolston, from 5pm before the tree of light is lit at 5.15pm.
The high street will open at 5.45pm and visitors can enjoy stalls, fairground rides, food, and a steam train. Santa will be there handing out grotto gifts to children and there will be a traction engine, fairground rides, balloons and face painting.
The Salvation Army band will perform Christmas songs with the Southampton Choir from 6.30pm.
But children’s activities will start from 2.30pm, which will include Christmas lanternmaking at The Three Bears Play Cafe.
