DRIVERS in Hampshire are facing long delays this morning following four accidents on major routes in the county.

There are long tailbacks on the A31 westbound towards Southampton after a lorry came off the road and into a ditch.

That incident happened around 4.30am but has left one lane closed. It is likely to stay shut throughout the rush hour meaning traffic from the New Forest heading past Poulner Hill and the Burley turn off is restricted to one lane.

Elsewhere, on the M27 there are queues eastbound following a crash which has now been moved to the hard shoulder. It happened on the eastbound carriageway between Junction 11 at Fareham and Gosport and Junction 12 at Portsmouth.

All vehicles involved were moved to the hard shoulder around 7.30am but there are long queues as a result.

And there are reports of problems in Lyndhurst on the A337 Romsey Road. The accident is reported to have happened about a mile and a half mnorth of Lyndhurst and is causing problems with traffic slow in both directions.

Fire crews were called to Rownhams Road in North Baddesley at about 6.20am after a four vehicle collision.

One man was injured in the collision, and was treated by paramedics at the scene.

And finally the B3055 Balmer Lawn Road at Brockenhurst has been closed due to flooding.
