THEY are the best in the South East. Hampshire-based Cathedral Cars has been voted the region’s ‘Best Wedding Transport Supplier’ at the prestigious 2014 Wedding Industry Awards.

Cathedral Cars owned by Brian Bennett was nominated for the gong by Rachel and Adam Hardwick of Chandler’s Ford.

“I was extremely surprised to receive an email advising we had been nominated by Rachel and Adam, following their wedding at Winchester Guildhall.

“I didn’t even know the awards existed and Rachel and Adam didn’t tell us they had nominated us... it came as a complete, but very pleasant, shock,” said Brian.

Newlyweds from across the south east region, which includes Hampshire, nominated their transport providers for the award which is run nationwide.

Romsey-based Cathedral Cars which received 44 votes out of a possible 56, will now go on to compete against rivals from six other regions at the national awards ceremony at the Bloomsbury Ballrooms on January 15. Couples who married between November 2012 and this October were eligible.

Brian, who provides an ivory and black vintage 1935 Rolls Royce 20/25, an ivory Daimler DS420 and the only ivory convertible Daimler Landaulette in the UK with built-in twin confetti cannons for his clients, added: “We are delighted to have won our local region thanks to our many happy couples that took the time and effort to vote for us.

“It is very humbling to have beaten other, more established, wedding transport companies as we’re only in our second year of operation. It’s a great testament to our attention to detail and unbeatable customer service – something we’re extremely proud of.”

Cathedral Cars operate across Hampshire.

“Naturally, it would be a huge honour to win the national award, but I’m more focused on our local area and making sure that future couples continue to receive our award-winning service,” said Brian.

He added: “We exhibit at a number of wedding fairs throughout the area where couples can come along to see our cars and have a chat about their individual requirements and we hope that this award proves to them that we offer a first class service at affordable prices.

“Every wedding is different and we firmly believe it is our responsibility to help make their special day the one they so rightly deserve!”

His 1935 Rolls-Royce was first owned by Lady Boles, the wife of Sir Dennis Boles, a prominent Somerset MP between 1911 and 1921.
