ENGLAND’S footballing stars will be joining the biggest names in music when the Brazil World Cup 2014 is beamed live to next summer’s Isle of Wight Festival.

Household names including Steven Gerrard, Wayne Rooney and Theo Walcott will be cheered on by thousands of festival goers as the BT Sport Field of Dreams returns to Seaclose Park for 2014.

Every kick, card and corner of the World Cup will be screened live on huge screens so more than 60,000 music-lovers can choose between live entertainment while not missing out on what’s happening on the pitch.

The screenings will be a throwback to the blazing hot 2010 festival where tens of thousands of people watched England score in the first match of the tournament against America, with girl band The Saturday’s playing their rendition of “Vindaloo” in the Big Top when they scored.

As revealed last week, headlining the main stage as the festival gets underway on Friday June 13 will be the award winning Scottish band Biffy Clyro.

DJ superstar Calvin Harris will be closing the night, plus a much anticipated guest set from Rudimental.

Not only that, Passenger, The 1975 and The Waterboys will all be appearing over the hotly anticipated weekend.

Tickets are on sale now from ticketzone.co.uk or by calling 08444 99 99 55.
