MYSTERY surrounds the sudden death of a baby.
An inquest heard that 11-month-old Alice O’Reilly was found unresponsive in her cot by her parents at their home in Campain Way, Kings Worthy, after they were woken at 4am by a special breathing alarm.
Coroner Keith Wiseman, ruled that Alice’s death was natural, and said: “They were able to get to see Alice very quickly and saw she did not appear to be breathing. She could not in any way be recovered, sadly.”
A report to Southampton Coroner’s Court told how before her death on April 28 this year, Alice had been a healthy baby.
Dr Samantha Holden who carried out a post-mortem examination said she could not pin-point a cause of death despite extensive tests.
