FLYBE will start operating its brand new weekly ski route from Southampton airport to Grenoble tomorrow with reports that the weekend flight prior to New Year will be especially busy.

Grenoble is a dynamic city with plenty of history and culture and its proximity to the Alps offers easy access to some of the region’s most popular ski resorts including the world-famous off-piste ski area, La Grave.

Flybe’s chief commercial officer Paul Simmons said: “We look forward to welcoming the first passengers on board our new ski route to Grenoble this weekend and hope that they will enjoy the convenience of being able to travel direct to some of the most popular ski slopes in Europe from their local airport.”

Dave Lees, managing director of Southampton Airport, added: “This is our biggest ever ski season at Southampton and the addition of Flybe’s Grenoble route provides really easy access to the ski slopes.”

Flybe now operates winter ski routes from Southampton to Grenoble, Chambery, daily flights to Geneva and weekly to Salzburg which also starts this weekend.
