A HAMPSHIRE store will be banned from selling booze for ten days after police caught them selling alcohol to underage customers twice in just a few months.

The First Stop off licence in Portchester failed two test purchase operations headed up by Fareham and Gosport police, resulting in them being slapped with a ten day closure notice.

The notice was served yesterday and will come into effect 14 days later, as well as the store’s licence being reviewed.

The Clarence Tavern pub in Gosport also failed to request ID and sold alcohol to a customer under-18 during the latest police operation, which saw officers visit ten premises with a 14-year-old and 17-year-old who attempted to buy booze.
