Bus passenger attacked as he tried to defend driver

A BUS passenger has been attacked after trying to intervene against two abusive passengers.

The victim, a 40-year-old man from Southampton, was on his way back to Southampton from a night out in Hamble.

He had taken the night bus back to the city and two men on the bus were being verbally abusive particularly to the driver.

When the bus stopped at Victoria Road, in Netley Abbey, the victim asked the two men to leave the bus to help the bus driver.

After he got off the bus himself he was then attacked by the two men who also assaulted him while he was on the floor.

He sustained facial injuries including a cut to his right eye in the incident, which happened at 1am yesterday morning .

A 21-year-old man from Netley Abbey and a 20-year-old man from Sholing have been arrested on suspicion of causing grievous bodily harm and are being questioned by police.

Well, I know if I was a Syrian refugee whose options were (a) sitting in a sh!tty refugee camp in Turkey (b) going home and getting shot or (c) seeking asylum in the UK, I'd cross (c) off the list because of a bit of trouble on the night bus from Hamble.

Because there was the other story about the immigration sign in Hedge End & it was merely a spin off from there but I guess you had to be there.

Never help anyone in Southampton you'll end up in trouble.
Turn the other cheek, and imagine you are somewhere nice, and not surrounded by cackers.
