A MAN has been injured in a punch up at a Christmas party.

The victim, a 32-year-old, from Totton, was punched in the face at the marquee event at Stoneham Park, on Stoneham Lane, Eastleigh, where 800 guests had gathered.

A reveller had been arguing with the victim before a scuffle broke out and the victim ended up on the floor. He was punched him twice in the face.

The victim was taken to hospital and there is concern for an injury to his eyesocket. He also has swelling to his face.

The incident, which happened between 10.30pm and 11.30pm on Friday , is being treated as potentially grievous bodily harm.

The suspect is described as a white man, aged 27 to 30 years old, 6ft to 6ft 2in tall, of reasonable build, with shaven head and spoke with a local accent.
