Daily Echo: Dealer left drug bags near church Dealer left drug bags near church

PARAMEDICS thought the behaviour of a Southampton man odd after his car had crashed into a churchyard wall.

They observed Waqar Ahmed getting in and out of his car before walking into the churchyard where he discarded items before returning to his vehicle.

The city crown court heard the reason became clear after police arrived on the scene.

Prosecutor Roderick Blain said they found a small amount of cannabis in the vehicle and then recovered 13 “deal bags” in the churchyard, and when they examined his phone it was discovered he had been advertising the drug for sale.

Ahmed, 20, of Holly Hill Close, admitted possessing cannabis, possessing it with intent to supply and offering to supply.

Said to be of previous good character, he received an eight-month suspended sentence with orders to pay £200 costs and carry out 200 hours’ unpaid work in the community.
