Hampshire schoolchildren have done their bit to help spread some festive cheer.

Children at Tiptoe Primary School, near New Milton, got in the sprit of giving this Christmas.

In a twist from the norm, each child donated a toy to Santa to give to the children having to spend time at Southampton General Hospital at least one present to open on Christmas Day.

Jacqui Persson, Headteacher, said: “We started to do this a few years and it was really well received by the children to give something back to the community. The children have all responded well to giving and all loved the idea of helping Santa and giving him presents!”

“A few of our parents have had children in Southampton General Hospital before over the Christmas period so we know how much this donation will mean to them. We wish the children who are less fortunate than ours a speedy recovery.”
