Daily Echo: Thief walks out of store with new bike Thief walks out of store with new bike

A THIEF has walked out of a store with a brand new bike.

He took the £500 bicycle off a bike rack inside the Halfords shop in Eastleigh, walked down the stairs and out the front entrance of the store.

A member of staff at the store, in the Channon Retail Park, in Woodside Avenue, gave chase and tried to grab the bike but slipped over and the thief got away.

The bike, a Carrera Fury, is blue and black with a blue front suspension.

The suspect is described as slim, 6ft 2in, in his late teens, with dark greasy hair and a spotty face and wearing a dark hoodie.

Anyone with information or any witnesses to what happened, at around 12.20pm on Boxing Day, is asked to call Eastleigh police on 101.

Last time I tried to buy a bicycle it was chained to the rack inside the store. Did someone forget to do the same at Halfords?
