FIVE people have been arrested in connection with the death of a Hampshire man who drank juice laced with cocaine.

Detectives have confirmed today they have arrested five people on suspicion of drugs offences after Joromie Lewis' death.

The 33-year-old died hours after drinking a Cole Cold Pear D juice drink containing a lethal amount of the Class A drug in Southampton.

The funeral of the Royal Navy veteran, from Gosport, took place at St Mary the Virgin Church in Gosport this morning.

Two men and a woman from Southampton, who are all aged 37, have been arrested and bailed until April 8.

Two men, one aged 33 and the other 39, from London have also been arrested.

The 33-year-old has been bailed until April 3, while the 39-yea-rold has been bailed until April 8.

Detective Superintendent Dick Pearson from the Hampshire Major Investigation Unit said: "This is a complex investigation covering the circumstances surrounding Mr Lewis's death, as well as the drug trafficking offences. Mr Lewis's family have been kept up to date with developments, including these five arrests for drugs offences."
