IT was a promise that doting parents Tracey Burrows and Joga Chungh made in 2010 – to tie the knot if their son Tarun made it to his third birthday.

And after the youngster, who has battled a rare and damaging genetic disorder all of his short life, kept his end of the bargain, so did his mum and dad.

On Saturday their “miracle” son and his two siblings accompanied the couple down the aisle as they were married in a ceremony in Southampton.

Tarun was born at just 32 weeks, and tests revealed he had Noonans Syndrome, a disorder that causes abnormal development of many parts of the body and a rare form of leukaemia.

With the odds stacked against Tarun, his parents made a vow that if he made it to his third birthday, they would get married.

And with his condition bringing him to the brink of death five times and forcing him to spend most of his short life in hospital, they feared they would never have the chance to keep their promise.

But after Tarun not only pulled through but took his first steps, they were able to begin the preparations for their big day.

And on Saturday Tarun, his twin brother Kian, who does not suffer with the disorder, and their six-year-old sister Tia walked down the aisle alongside their parents.

The music for the occasion – Beyonce’s Ave Maria – was specially chosen after it helped them through the times when doctors told them about Tarun’s chances of survival.

After their big day at the Grand Harbour Hotel, mum Tracey said: “It was the most amazing spectacle ever, to have all our children with us.

“We never thought our son would be here, so to actually see him walk down the aisle is overwhelming.

“He is our little miracle.”
