9:50am Wednesday 1st January 2014 in News
A PLOT of Southern Water-owned land in Winchester has gone under the auctioneer’s hammer for £73,000 in a bidding war.
The freehold site on Andover Road, guided at £10-15,000, was among 32 lots sold by land and property auctioneers Clive Emson. More than 150 people attended the auction.
In an unrelated sale, a 3.5-acre site at Weston Down Lane, Weston Colley, near Micheldever, sold prior to auction.
The location had a freehold estimate of £90-110,000 and was used for general storage and, prior to that, as a chippings depot for the county council.
Starting at 11am, the first of Clive Emson’s eight regional sales in 2014 takes place at The Ageas Bowl on Wednesday, February 12.
