UP-and-coming fashion designers will get the chance to showcase their talents in the windows of Eastleigh charity shops.

Enliven Eastleigh 2014 is looking for Hampshire-based emerging fashion designers and textile artists from across the county to sign up for the event in June.

If selected for the project they will get the chance to upcycle clothing cast offs into a new creation.

Designs will be showcased in a town centre trail which will take shoppers around Eastleigh, then on to a fashion show at the town’s The Point theatre.

They will also compete for a range of titles including best commercial designs and the best reworked designs.

Up to 15 emerging designers will be selected to take part, which was supported last year by British designers Wayne Hemingway and Mia Nisbet, who selected the winning designs.

The annual event is supported by European funding agency Interreg as part of the Recreate programme, which aims to nurture and grow creative businesses and is made up of 16 French and English partners, including Eastleigh Borough Council.

To apply, write a brief statement about yourself and your relevant experience and a short statement on why you would like to take part in no more than 500 words with a small selection of images of recent examples of work or a link to your website to paul.spencer@eastleigh.gov.uk.
