Itchen Bridge closed by police
POLICE closed the Itchen Bridge today to stop a man jumping from it.
Trained police officers were called in to negotiate with the man after a worried member of the public contacted the police.
The bridge was closed from 7.15am to 8.15am as the 29-year-old man was talked down from jumping.
He was then taken by ambulance to Southampton General Hospital to be checked over.
