Police are appealing for information after a man was seriously injured in a road crash in Hampshire.
The collision in Fleet happened in the early hours of New Year’s Day.
At around 2.50am a 42-year-old man was walking along Reading Road South when he was involved in a collision with a Vauxhall Astra.
He was taken to Southampton General Hospital with head and leg injuries.
They are said to be serious but not life threatening.
The driver, a 57-year-old man also from Fleet, was uninjured.
The road was closed to allow police to investigate the scene and was opened later on in the morning.
Police would like to hear from anyone who witnessed the collision or saw the vehicle or pedestrian prior to it.
Anyone with information is asked to contact the Whitchurch Roads Policing unit on 101 quoting Operation Populus.
