RESIDENTS are being asked to help those in financial crisis by donating food.

The Hedge End Food Centre provides individuals and families from Botley, Hedge End, West End and other local areas with food-aid if they are suffering financial difficulties.

Based at Kings Community Church, Hedge End, people with needs are referred from agencies that hold vouchers that will be redeemed for a week’s supply of dry food.

The project is supported by local churches and councils and opens every Thursday 10am to 3pm.

Food parcels can also be dropped off at Hedge End Town Council, 2000 Centre, in St Johns Road, Hedge End.

Donations needed include, granulated sugar, 40 or 80 tea bags, instant coffee, powdered and UHT milk, stock cubes, fruit juice, cooking sauces, 300g or 400g tomato and brown sauce, tinned vegetables, fruit, soup, tuna, custard, rice pudding or meat.
