THE captain of a cargo ship berthed at Southampton Docks has appeared in court after allegedly failing to provide a breath test.
Han Gi Cheong, 60, from Korea, was arrested after officers boarded a vessel berthed at Southampton Docks.
Mr Cheong was the captain of a 68,000 tonnes 232 metres long cargo vessel which had berthed at the docks on December 27 on arrival from Antwerp.
He was charged with failing to provide a preliminary breath test when required to do so.
He appeared before magistrates on December 28 and was remanded in custody to appear before Southampton Crown Court on January 29.
He was one of more than 200 people who were arrested as part of Hampshire police's annual Christmas drink and drug impaired driving campaign.
