A MOTORCYCLIST who died in a crash has been named.

Tim Barfoot, of Shakespeare Road, Eastleigh died at the scene after his bike was in collision with a silver BMW.

The 41-year-old was riding a blue Suzuki GXSR motorcycle travelling on the B1277 Winchester Road towards Bishop Waltham from Waltham Chase when it collided with the BMW heading in the same direction.

The 23-year-old woman driving the BMW was treated for shock at the scene.

She is assisting police with their enquiries.

As reported earlier today, desperate attempts were made to save Mr Barfoot at the scene of the crash yesterday.

Police are continuing their appeal for witnesses and would like to hear from anyone who witnessed the collision, which happened at 1.45pm on Thursday or saw either vehicle driving prior to it.

Call Inspector Steve Wakeford at Fratton Roads Policing unit on 101 quoting Operation Betula.

Thoughts with Mr Barfoot's family and the lady driver as it won't be an incident she will forget.
