A Winchester woman has been convicted of benefit fraud after lying about her domestic relationship.
Luchana Bright, 23, of Woolford Close, Stanmore, admitted three counts when she appeared before Basingstoke Magistrates’ Court.
Bright dishonestly failed to tell the Department of Work and Pensions about a change in circumstances that would affect her entitlement to income support between August 28, 2011 and March 12, 2013, namely that she was living with Ashley Barter.
She admitted two similar offences with Winchester City Council and housing benefit and council tax benefit between August 2011 and March 2013.
Magistrates ordered she do 80 hours’ unpaid work over the next 12 months and pay a victim surcharge of £60.
