THERE are just 62 black and white television sets still in use in Southampton, according to new figures released today by TV Licensing.
And there are just five being used in Eastleigh.
It comes as figures reveal a drop of 12 per cent of the old television sets across the country.
Nationwide there are just 11,550 black and white licences remaining compared with the turn of the century when there were 212,000 across the country.
TV Licensing spokeswoman Emma Cowlard said: “Today’s figures show – that even in the digital age – more than 11,000 homes still watch their favourite programmes on black and white TV sets.”
