A HOUSING fair is being staged this week to help students find homes in Southampton.

The event, organised by the Southampton University Students Union, is part of a campaign to improve the service given to students when it comes to finding accommodation.

The campaign is aimed at relieving the pressure on students to find a home by urging letting agents not to rush students into signing contracts before official housing lists become available.

The housing fair on Friday will take place at the Student Union building from 10am to 5pm and will include workshops on housing contracts, a drop-in with advice centre staff, and information about accommodation issues including locations, utilities and insurance.
