BURGLARS have taken £1,000 worth of bikes in a shed break-in.

They forced their way into two padlocked wooden sheds at the back of a home in Newtown Road, Eastleigh and took two adult bicycles.

One was a ‘Giant’ blue mountain bike worth around £300 and the other a ‘Trek’ mountain bike worth around £700.

It is not known what routes the thieves took, but the property backs out onto a single lane service road.

Police are appealing for witnesses or anyone with information on the incident, which happened between 5.30pm on Saturday and 10am Sunday to call Eastleigh Police on 101.
