AN ORANGE alert has been issued by three independent lifeboat crews on the Isle of Wight.
Crews from Sandown and Shanklin Independent Lifeboat, Ryde Rescue and Freshwater Lifeboat will join forces on Go Orange Day on February 21 to raise awareness for independent lifeboat stations.
All three are independent stations, often confused with RNLI stations, relying on donations and charity.
The volunteer crews want businesses, schools and even individuals to come up with zany fundraising ideas such as dyeing your hair orange, |sponsoring someone to sit in a bath of baked beans, wearing an orange piece of clothing for the day, hold a coffee and cake morning or simply wearing an orange ribbon in support.
To get involved in the fundraising|campaign, contact Barry or Judy on 07821 854882.
