TWO major crashes are causing rush hour chaos on Hampshire motorways today.

Both accidents involve four cars and are causing disruption on the M3 and the M27.

The first crash happend on the M3 northbound between junctions 14 and 13.

Emergency services were at the scene and the accident was cleared by 8.45am, but delays of up to an hours were still blighting the M27 and surrounding areas for traffic heading towards the M3.

Crews from Redbridge, St Mary’s and Eastleigh, fire stations used specialist cutting equipment to free a woman in her 60s from one of the cars.

She was taken to Southampton General Hospital with suspected neck and back injuries.

The second accident causing tailbacks was on the M27 at Fareham after four cars collided shortly after 7.30am.

It happened between junctions 10 and 11 eastbound.
