COMMUTERS faced delays this morning after an accident closed one of Hampshire's busiest motorways.

The accident involved four cars on the M27 westbound between junctions 11 and 10 shortly before 8am.

It initially blocked one lane but emergency services closed the entire carriageway to remove the wreckage.

The road was reopened at about 8.20am.

The crash caused tail backs beyond junction 12 near Portsmouth.

Lane two of three were blocked with a car facing the wrong way while the other three cars are on the hard shoulder.
