ORGANISATIONS who help Hampshire’s needy and reduce crime in the county will be given a funding boost.

Hampshire and the Isle of Wight’s Police and Crime Commissioner Simon Hayes is inviting organisations that are working to improve outcomes in its key commissioning themes to apply for funding.

These include those working with data and technology and restorative justice, supporting children, young people and families, victims and witnesses and people affected by domestic and sexual abuse as well as organisations working to reduce antisocial behaviour, reoffending and substance misuse.

Events to provide an overview on what the commissioner is looking for and give practical advice on the bidding process will be held at The Riverside Centre in Newport on the Isle of Wight from 11am- 12.30pm today and at Winchester Guildhall from 10am-11.30am on Friday.

Bids must be submitted before 4pm on January 31 at hants.gov.uk/grants/pccgrants.

Awards will be announced by February 14.
