TALENTED young engineers are preparing to show off their skills at a major exhibition in London.

There are just three junior members of Eastleigh and District Model Boat Club – but they have already been making waves with their clever model boat designs.

Their work, which includes radio controlled vessels, is of such high standard that they will be taking a selection of them to the prestigious London Model Engineering Exhibition at the Alexandra Palace in London.

Two of the models that the children will be displaying include HMS Crane, which was built as part of a summer project this year and a Thornycroft Horse Box from the 1920s.

Patrick Hendra, from the club, said: “We would encourage any children that might like to find out more about we do to come forward, meet our members and have fun.”
