TRAVELLERS are facing major delays this morning after a fault on the train line and a bridge has been forced to close for emergency repairs.

A signalling problem in Beaulieu Road in the New Forest is disrupting services in Hampshire Meanwhile a bridge under the M27 at junction 5 near Eastleigh is closed for repairs, although the motorway slip roads remain open.

Traffic chaos is also being reported at Southampton Airport Parkway car park. It is closed because it is full.

One fed-up commuter said: “It's total mayhem. Cars are having to reverse all over the place. No one seems to know what's going on and now they are cancelling trains.

“It's not a great start to the new year.”
