ONE of the men accused of murdering a Southampton dad boasted he could get his hands on hard drugs in text messages, a court heard.

Pierre Lewis said “I can get my hands on anything” in text exchanges with his girlfriend Rachel Kenehan who is accused of helping him and his accomplices flee following the alleged killing, Winchester Crown Court heard.

The texts were revealed in the murder trial of Jahmel Jones, who was killed by a single gunshot wound to the head at a flat in St Mary Street, Southampton, on April 20 last year.

Prosecutor Ian Lawrie QC told the court text messages between the pair were discovered on a phone left in a hire car rented by Ms Kenehan.

Mr Lewis, 20, of Barnes, London, is jointly charged with murder along with Isaac Boateng, 22, of Hounslow, and Jemmikai Orlebar-Forbes, 20, of London.

They all deny murder but have pleaded guilty to other charges of conspiracy to supply Class A drugs.

Kenehan, a 35-year-old academic who studied criminology, denies conspiracy to supply Class A drugs, assisting an offender, and perverting the course of justice.

The court heard how text messages retrieved by Julie Sargent, of Hampshire Constabulary’s major investigation team, included Lewis asking Kenehan if she knew anyone who takes cocaine.

In one text, he said: “I can get my hands on anything – do you know anyone that sniffs?”

She replied: “Yes, I know a few. They will know more. I know places around here. I’ll take you to those places, you see what you think.”

Jurors heard how Kenehan – who first met Lewis when she became his mentor on his release from prison – repeatedly hired cars from firms in London between December 2012 and March 2013.
