PLANS to merge two schools go before county education bosses on Wednesday.
It is proposed to amalgamate Siskin Infant and Junior schools in Nimrod Drive, Gosport, to create one primary school.
The nursery, which is housed in the infant school buildings, would be unaffected, a report states.
If the plan was to go ahead the merger would take place in January 2015. This would follow a six-week consultation period, with opinions taken into account before a final decision is made.
The move follows an Oftsted inspection in February last year when the inspector said they found the infant school to have “serious weaknesses”.
The merger plan would close the infant school.
