Police say they are increasingly concerned for a man who has been missing for more than 24 hours.
Nigel Fowler, who was last seen wearing a distinctive chef's outfit, left for work at 8am yesterday but failed to arrive.
Mr Fowler, 37, of Fir Avenue in New Milton, was reported missing last night.
A police spokesman said fellow staff at the Lymington restaurant where he works as a chef were concerned because his disappearance was out-of-character.
He is described as white, about 5ft 9ins, stocky, clean shaven with thinning grey hair.
He was last seen wearing a chef's outfit, including blue and white chequered trousers, as well as a black and grey puffa-style jacket with a white top underneath, and black shoes.
Detectives are making a direct appeal for Mr Fowler to contact police and let them know he is safe.
They are asking the public to come forward with any sightings or information.
