FIREFIGHTERS have tackled a blaze at a marina.

Two engines from St Mary's were called to Quayside Road, Bitterne Manor, in Quayside Marina, where a portable building being used as an office was destroyed by the fire.

They put the fire out using two jets and four breathing apparatus, but spent another hour damping down afterwards.

It is understood that the owner spotted the fire and alerted the emergency services.

No-one was inside the building and no-one was hurt in the blaze.

A Hampshire Fire and Rescue spokesperson said the cause was not yet known.
