IT’S the search for the most beautiful and talented woman in the county.

Miss Hampshire is back and looking for women aged 17 to 24 to strut their stuff and show off their skills to vie for the crown.

A variety of individual prizes are up for grabs including the Beauty with a Purpose charity award, sponsored by Bookers and Bolton Solicitors, the Abbeyfield Films Talent Award, the Public Choice Award and the David Freeman Photographic Award.

New this year is the Miss Hampshire Eco Queen title, focusing on sustainable fashion by challenging contestants to show off their recycling skills by finding an outfit at a charity shop or making one themselves.

The Eco Queen will be selected at a charity dinner on February 21 at Alton House Hotel, hosted by 2013 Miss Hampshire Hayley Adlam, with all proceeds going to Naomi House and Jacksplace hospices.

The winner will have a hard act to follow as Hayley, who won the title back in May, has gone on to have a hugely successful year.

Since Hayley was crowned she undertook her final examinations at Cardiff University, graduating in June with a 2:1 Bachelor of Science degree in Marine Geography.

Her degree has enabled her to pursue a career in the offshore sector where she now works as a graduate surveyor for Aberdeen-based company Specialist Subsea Services.

So far 17 contestants have been selected but there is still time to put your name forward with the competition open until February 22. For more details visit missengland.info or facebook.com /pages/Miss-Hampshire/ 436841923058926.
