A Hampshire man who was found dead in his car by a passer by deliberately took his own life, an inquest heard.
Peter Davies was discovered in the driver’s seat of his Fiat, which was parked oddly in the High Corner car park, in Linwood Road, Fordingbridge, on November 29, last year.
On the back seat of the car officers found the 57-year-old’s diabetic medication, as well as empty packets of painkillers, plus mince pies and lemonade.
A post-mortem revealed that Mr Davies had 14 to 15 times the therapeutic amount of pain killers in his system – a level associated with fatality.
Coroner Keith Wiseman was told no suicide note was found but that Mr Davies had suffered with chronic pancreatitis, a condition for which it is difficult to manage the pain.
Mr Wiseman ruled that Mr Davies deliberately took his own life.
