Police continuing their investigation into a report of indecent behaviour involving a man in Portsmouth are appealing for information.

Sometime between 1.00pm and 1.25pm on December 28 an 11-year-old girl was walking home along Canal Walk on her way back from shopping with friends in Commercial Road.

As she entered the footbridge between Durham Street and Greetham Street she noticed a man stood alone smiling at her.

The man then unzipped his trousers and exposed himself.

The girl was shocked and scared and ran back the way she had come.

The man was described as:

• White with tanned appearance

• Aged late 30s to 40s

• Between 5ft 8ins and 6ft tall

• Medium build

• Short gingery blonde hair which was short and scruffy

• He had a slight moustache which matched his hair colour

• He was unkempt in appearance

Investigating Officer, PC Charlotte Pocock of Fratton DCID said: “We want to hear from anyone who might have any information about the man in the description.

“Were you in the area at the time? Do you remember seeing anything suspicious? If you did, please contact us as soon as possible.
