RESIDENTS in Fareham are being asked by the council to comment on proposed changes to how it allocates housing.
The council is proposing changes including increasing the amount of time people need to have lived in the town, awarding applicants with strong links to the area and removing the ‘no housing need’ band.
This is to make sure the right people are on the waiting list and the correct policies are in place, the council says.
Once approved, the council will begin to reregister existing housing waiting list applicants.
The new policy should be running by summer.
