A MAN has pleaded not guilty to attempting to murder another man in a Southampton street.
Mark Motteram yesterday denied attempting to murder Steve Cook outside a house in Burgess Road, Southampton, on November 2 last year.
The 45-year-old, of Burgess Road, was arrested after Mr Cook was found with stab wounds to his stomach. Mr Cook was taken to Southampton General Hospital, but his injuries were not life- threatening and he was later discharged.
Motteram pleaded not guilty to attempted murder during the 15 minute hearing at Winchester Crown Court.
Judge Guy Boney said the trial is expected to last 45 days and remanded Motteram in custody.
The trial is likely to begin in April.
