A MAN was caught drink-driving after crashing into a tree, a court heard.
Southampton Magistrates’ Court heard how Darius Ustasiak was breathalysed when police were called to Stoneham Way, near junction five of the M27 at 5.45am on New Year’s Day, where a Ford Mondeo had crashed.
A breath test found the 41-year-old had 66 milligrams of alcohol per hundred millilitres of breath when the limit is 35 milligrams.
Ustasiak, of Harefield Road, Southampton, an unemployed builder, pleaded guilty to drink-driving, driving without insurance and driving otherwise than in accordance with a licence.
The DVLA has no record of Ustasiak applying for a UK driving licence.
Ustasiak was disqualified for 20 months, reduced by 153 days if he takes a drink-driving rehabilitation course, fined £255, ordered to pay £50 costs and £20 victims’ fund.
