A PONY was loose on a major road this morning, less than a day after a motorcyclist died in a collision with a horse on the same carriageway.

The animal was on the road at the Minstead turning on the A31, but was ushered back into the New Forest shortly after 12pm today.
Last night, a motorcyclist died following a crash on the same road after horse escaped on to the road.
The incident led to the road being shut for a number of hours, with hundreds of motorists stranded.
Today's incident resulted in the road being closed for a short time, but traffic was flowing once again by 12.15pm.
