A MAN has been injured after falling from a window in a Hampshire building site.
The man, in his 40s, fell from an upper floor window of a building behind Berties Restaurant in Romsey.
His fall was broken when he landed on scaffolding below.
Emergency teams were called to the scene just after 10am yesterday.
The victim, believed to be from Wales, was awake and talking to his work colleagues when police and ambulance crews arrived.
A specialist crew from South Central Ambulance Serviceβs hazardous area response team were involved in removing the injured man from the scaffolding.
He was then taken to Southampton General Hospital for treatment.
Police will be reporting the incident to the Health and Safety Executive.
Berties Restaurant manager Dulla Dobratiqi said the man had been working on a four-home building site behind the premises when the accident happened.
βHe was talking to the rest of the builders after he fell. He was lucky,β she said.
