TWO hundred people queued to get their hands on tickets for the hottest show in town.

Theatre-lovers started queuing outside the theatre at 4.30am, with the box office opening at 8am.

The acclaimed Disney production - which has played in 15 countries and five continents across the world - will run at the theatre from July 11 to September 6.

Daily Echo:

Some of the 200 people who queued this morning could not hide their delight at getting their hands on the tickets.

One, Michael Phillips from Totton, said: “It's a brilliant show, it's going to be a magical experience.”

Daily Echo:

And another, Ray Sanders from Redbridge, said: “We've seen the DVDs of the performances, and now we're going to see it for real. It's very exciting.”

Booked our tickets last night, £130 is a bit pricey for 2 adults but I've never seen it so I don't mind paying that price, I do however feel for families who want to take their children having to pay the same price as adult tickets

130 quid for 2 tickets, mugs. You can see real lions at Marwell for 15 quid.

I'm joined one of the Mayflower members clubs so was able to book, online, weeks ago. No standing in the cold for me and was able to get exactly the seat I wanted. I agree, the price of tickets is high, especially if you take a family but, for a big production they usually are. Shrek and Wicked were also expensive. It would cost more to see it in London with the cost of transport to get there. We are so lucky to have a theatre that can put on these kind of performances. Incidentally, the cost of the tickets, I understand, is set by the touring company and not the Mayflower.

Hello.
I queued. I got there early enough to be 3rd in line.
In doing so, I meet new people and -believe it or not- I enjoyed it.
I'm not desperate, in fact, I'm very patient. Wouldn't you agree?
