Police name man who died in road crash victim
Police have named a man from Portsmouth who died following a single vehicle collision in the city on Saturday.
Allen David McBride, 46, of Northover Road was driving a blue Peugeot 307 which collided with a house at the junction of Chesterfield Road and Cobden Avenue at 5.40pm.
It’s thought that Mr McBride fell ill at the wheel shortly before the collision. He was treated by paramedics but died at the scene.
His family has been informed and a post mortem has not yet been carried out.
The occupant of the house was not injured.
Anyone who witnessed the collision is asked to contact Sergeant Wayne Voller at Fratton Roads Policing Unit, quoting Operation Kensal.
